Dragon Fruit/Pitahaya (500g)
Thai Name: Kaew mank gorn / แก้วมังกร
It comes in two colours. The white fleshed variety has a slightly citrus flavour and the deep red fleshed fruit has a mild sweet taste, both are speckled with tiny black seeds, this fruit is unlike any other fruit, and is the perfect addition to any exotic tropical fruit salad.
The fruit's shape and color are impressive with fruit weight between 200-500 grams in general. The fruit contains minerals, dietary fiber and vitamins with mild sweet and slightly sour taste. After cut open, the white pulp has numerous impregnated seeds of sesame look. It helps improving glucose control in humans with non-insulin-dependent hyperglycemic conditions and reducing the blood levels of triglycerides, total cholesterol, and low - density lipoprotein cholesterol.
