The durian tree, reaching 90 to 130 ft (27-40 m) in height in tropical forests, ripe fruits mostly fall of the tree. Individual fruits are divided into five compartments, each containing a large brown seed covered by a sac of thick, creamy, yellow pulp with an aroma that's legendary.
