Whether you are looking to whip up something a little more exotic for dinner, or recreate a firm Thai family favourite, look no further than Lobo brand Namya Curry Paste. This delicious curry provides a delicate balance between the four primary tastes characteristic of Thai cuisine: sweetness, sourness, saltiness and spiciness. This medley is reflected in the use of ginger, galangal (Siamese ginger) and shrimp paste (sweet); lemon grass (sour); fish sauce (salty) and garlic, shallots and peppers (spicy), all of which are all mashed into a paste that forms the base of the curry dish.
With Lobo brand Namya Curry Paste, available in 60g sachet, all the delicate chemistry of flavor combining is already done for you, so all you need to do is add water and coconut milk as directed (instructions in Thai and English provided), bring to the boil and allow to simmer for 5 minutes, after which you can pour over chantaboon rice noodles or jasmine rice.
Thai Namya curry was traditionally used in the central plains of Thailand for medicinal purposes, owing to the rich nutritional value of its fresh herbal ingredients. Garlic is scientifically proven to reduce cholesterol and the risk of heart disease; shrimp paste contains a potent mixture of calcium and vitamin A, while shallots (pungent bulbs similar to onions) are thought to offer defence against colds and flu. Chile, although difficult for the untrained palate to tolerate, is actually an incredible medicinal tool against respiratory ailments and high blood pressure with its high concentration in vitamins C, E, B1, B2 and B3.
Now you can introduce this easy to make, mouth-watering and health promoting authentic Thai dish to your family’s menu with Lobo brand Namya Curry Paste.
